Hello! I’m Emma.
“A guilty conscience needs to confess. A work of art is a confession”
The process of creating art has always been a path to self-discovery. I believe that a confession of my inner self needs to be visually explored. With the use of photography, painting, and found objects, I am able to express the symbols and metaphors in each of my pieces. I believe there is an outer shell to every person that most are familiar with; however, deeper and more personal memories remain hidden. I seek to encourage others to have a better understanding of me, as I invite them to participate in their own self-reflection.
A BIT MORE ABOUT ME…
I have traveled and photographed in 11 different countries (Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, Mexico, and Guatemala) and I hope to continue to add to the list!
I’m obsessed with Belugas, rainbow sprinkles, and rubberducks.
Coffee is my worst (and best) addiction.
I have been a dancer since the age of 5.
Spending most of my life in the Boston area, I am a Red Sox fan for life!
I began my college education at Northeastern University in Boston, studying graphic design for two years. When my family moved to Iowa, I decided to move with them a year later and graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Art and minoring in Spanish. Later, I returned to Boston and Northeastern University to get a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Media Art with a Concentration in Photography.
